Rotator cuff repair
Surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff involves re-attaching the tendon back to bone. First the damage is assessed with arthroscopy before the procedure will be undertaken.

Distal biceps repair
An acute distal biceps tear will require surgical intervention to re-attach the tendon to the bone. Click on the link below to view a surgical technique.
Carpal Tunnel Surgery
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome occurs when too much pressure is placed on the median nerve causing weakness, numbness, and often pain in the wrist. In some instances surgery will be required. Surgery can be performed endoscopically or open - Dr Petrelis performs both. Click on the link below to see a patient information sheet.
PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP injections for tennis elbow and degenerative joint conditions if indicated)
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a concentration of platelets and growth factors created from a small amount of your blood. Increased levels of growth factors have the potential to improve signaling and recruitment of cells to assist in the healing process. PRP is made by taking your blood and spinning it in a centrifuge for 5 minutes. Blood components are separated based on their density with the platelets and growth factors forming the plasma layer. This is extracted and then injected into the ligament, tendon, or joint space. Click on the links below for more information.
frozen shoulder
Frozen Shoulder is a condition characterized by stiffness and pain in your shoulder joint. The signs and symptoms often begin gradually but worsen over time. There are recommended pulley exercises that you can do under supervision with your physiotherapist alongside shoulder joint injections if indicated.
